I'm Kate, mum of four children, a former nurse, special needs teaching assistant, and now owner of Cakes by Kate.

I have been making cakes for my family and friends for years, and love seeing the excitement on someones face when they see their cake. Building family traditions is so special, and helping to do that by creating beautiful, bespoke cakes to make stunning centrepieces is my aim. I love hearing about someones hobbies and passions, and trying to put that into a cake.

All my cakes are individually made, using fresh ingredients.

My daughter is a Coeliac, so whilst my kitchen is not a wheat free zone, I have been keen to develop cakes that are just as good for her as they are for everyone else. 

I am registered with the local council, fully insured, and have a level 2 food hygiene certificate
